Goblin Slayer's hometown memories were a nice way for him to reconnect with his past again since he has been doing nothing but killing goblins for 10 years. Him getting angry at himself in a dark alleyway after hearing red-haired Wizard lost his sister to a goblin, caused him to introspect and made him realize that he may have not even made a difference despite all his goblin killing in order to avenge his sister and village.
Goblins will always be a threat and will keep spawning regardless. With the success of the recent anime, I hope the world of Goblin Slayer is a prosperous one. I would love to see the newly released side story novel be translated officially too. I hope the volume sales are good enough that Yen Press releases it. I thought it was him realizing that he was the one who killed her well, put her out of her misery. Isn't it strongly hinted at that his sister is the mage that was in Priestess' first party?
I thought about that too at first but I figured that since GS has done so many goblin quests over the years, his memories have probably been a blur when it came to the goblin victims. Too bad have to wait until May for the next one.
