Solved: Local files won't get updated - The Spotify Community

Like many, I'm having issues with my local files in Spotify on my Windows laptop. I have over 30, local files that I would like to be able to listen to along with music I stream on Spotify. I understand that this is a fairly large number of songs, but I have never had such issues with any other. Just found a way around it, both devises need to be on the same wifi network, open desktop spotify, go to "local files" select the songs you want to get into your iphone, right click, then add to NEW playlist name it "Local files" or something like that, then go to that playlist, and turn "avaible offline" on, now make it "avaible offline on. Yeh it won't sync local files under the latest version of Android. It's not that it doesnt actually sync it, but on the phone on android. There is no option for local files. It doesn't come up. Tho it is on the computer Spotify app. The only way to do it, is to make a playlist. Drag everything from local files .

I continue to deal with buggy, glitchy, freezing behavior from Spotify, and while that is all annoying, my big gripe right now is that not all of my local files are appearing in the playlist. There are no blank slots below the last song, like some people have experienced; it just stops.

All songs are mp3 files. I've tried a clean reinstall and updating the folder location for local files in "Preferences" to no avail. Is there a new limit to local files that I'm unaware of?

Have you read through this article yet? I have. Issue is not with syncing with a mobile device and I'm not trying to sync with iTunes. All files are mp3. Did you get any resolution on this? I have the exact same issue, and have for months. Very annoying to not have the entire list cached in the local directory, and I can't see any reason why it is this way.

One other thing to note; as you look at your local playlist, sort by artist and then click it again to reverse it. You'll notice that the bottom of that list is now visible, once you flip it.

I am guessing this has to do with the visual cache, spotify local files wont download, but that the songs are actually there. Scroll all the way down, and suddenly the top part of your list is now missing By using our website you agree to our use of cookies in accordance with our cookie policy. Learn more here.
